Sports Premium
The Government spends over £450 million on pounds a year to improve the quality and access to sports in schools.
At St. Thomas' we believe that sport and PE is crucial to a child's mental health, wellbeing and physical fitness. We work hard with our partners at Your Trust, Rochdale Schools and Games Partnership and Pennine Sports Partnership to improve out sporting offer for all of our pupils. Through these partnerships all of our children our encouraged to take part in a variety of sports and activities at all levels.
We have gained the Gold award for our commitment to sports and games and we achieved an equality award from the FA for our commitment to girl's football.
The funding that we receive through the sports premium allows us to offer high quality sports coaching to all of our children through daily after school clubs, offer additional swimming opportunities to those who find swimming difficult and attend inter school sporting competitions.
